English
We are going to start our new English unit today - 'Wonderful Wizards'. It is a persuasion text that is designed to persuade the reader to think or act in a particular way.
- To get you warmed up for the wonderful world of wizardry watch this short video clip from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
- Now, watch this short lesson video that will introduce our unit and today's activities.
- Design a 'Top Wizard' Top Trump card (template) - remember think about: What you would look like? What would you wear? What special powers would you have?
- Finally, complete this Never-heard-the-word grid. This activity will bring to the front of your mind vocabulary you may have heard before but have forgotten about, and key vocabulary that we will meet in this unit.

- Have a look at this PowerPoint about false photography.
- Now, using the knowledge you have learned, have a go at editing an image of your choice - here are some possible types of edits that you may wish to make.
Here's my go using my phone (a tablet or laptop would be great to use as well):
Before
After
As always, if you would prefer to exercise by going for a walk or jumping on your trampoline then that's great!
If, however, you would like to perfect 'throwing with a push action' then take a look at this lesson from Oak Academy.
