- Today we are beginning to write our own versions of The Egyptian Cinderella using our planning from last week.
- Follow your plan and use the features from the model text; prepositions, present perfect tense and subordinating conjunctions, to write a good opening.
Years ago, in the city of London where the murky Thames river flows into the icy
water of the North Sea, lived a young girl named Jane. Jane had been kidnapped
from Birmingham by thieves and was now a maid for a kind Lady. But, because she sounded so
different from all the other servant girls, they teased her and spat out orders
like, “Go to the river to wash my clothes!” “Bake the bread!” “Mend my robe!”
